About:
Our clinic is a warm, welcoming place where you get our full attention during your extensive visit. We will help you understand your health situation from a medical perspective, and then educate you about the Oriental medicine view of things as well as the nutritional aspects that can be helpful to you. We will create a treatment plan for you that will give you a clear picture of what we think will be needed for success, and let you choose your level of participation. We will then proceed with acupuncture treatments and nutritional or herbal recommendations to get you feeling better again.
Our training and credentialing is extensive, and includes conventional acupuncture training at an accredited acupuncture school awarding a master's degree, along with taking and passing the national board certification exam which awards Diplomate of Acupuncture. This award leads to acceptance for an Iowa license, which is renewed every three years. We take continuing education, including ethics and lifesaving on a regular basis.
Our acupuncturists have also had extensive post-graduate training in the following special approaches to acupuncture: Tan's Balance method, Master Tong's style, Japanese acupuncture, auricular acupuncture (ear acupuncture), addictions treatment, weight loss treatment, orthopedics and pain treatment, and others.
We see people with many types of health challenges but we especially love helping people with pain. We can also support people undergoing cancer treatment, and fertility treatment. Many of our patients have tried everything else and we enjoy helping folks who have been disappointed in the conventional health care system. We have many resources for any given problem, and we share them generously.
We often hold classes on such subjects as detoxification, wellness, and self-care.
